Help & Support
Everything you need to get your tickets in, relive your events, and manage your account. Can't find an answer here? Email support@saltydigital.ai — we reply within 24 hours.
Getting started
What is Salty?
Salty turns your concerts, sports games, theatre, festivals, and trips into a personal memory archive. Import your tickets, then relive each event with setlists, photos, sports stats, and the friends you went with — all in one place.
How do I create an account?
Open the app and sign up with your email or your Google account. If you sign up with email, we'll send a one-time code to verify it. Then add a display name, username, and (optionally) a profile photo so friends can find you.
I didn't get my verification code.
Check your spam or promotions folder first — codes can take a minute to arrive. If your email is already linked to a Salty account, we won't send a new code; try signing in instead, or use "Forgot password." Still stuck? Email support@saltydigital.ai.
How do I find my way around?
- Tickets — your upcoming and past events. Tap any event for full details.
- Memories — recaps of past events: a Year in Photos collage, Moments reels, and a journal timeline.
- Discover — trending and nearby events, plus search for any artist, team, or festival.
- Friends & Following — connect with friends and follow the artists and teams you love.
- Settings — connected accounts, notifications, permissions, privacy, and help.
Importing your tickets
What are all the ways to add tickets?
1. Connect Gmail — Salty automatically finds ticket confirmations in your inbox.
2. Connect another email (Yahoo, iCloud, or AOL) — same automatic scanning.
3. Forward tickets by email — no inbox access required; you forward only the emails you choose.
4. Scan a photo of a ticket — snap a printed or screenshot ticket.
5. Add manually — enter an event yourself with the + button on the Tickets tab.
6. Add from your calendar — Salty spots likely events on your device calendar for you to review.
7. Import your concert history — bring in past shows from Songkick.
How does connecting Gmail work?
Choose Connect Gmail and sign in with Google. Salty scans your inbox for ticket confirmation emails and creates events from them automatically. We request read-only access and only ever look at ticket and travel confirmations — never the rest of your inbox. You can disconnect any time in Settings → Connected Accounts.
Can I connect an email other than Gmail?
Yes — Yahoo, iCloud, and AOL are supported. Choose "Connect Other Email" and enter your address and an app-specific password (not your normal login password). If you have two-factor authentication turned on, your provider requires an app-specific password, which you generate in your email account's security settings.
Why can't I connect my Outlook, Hotmail, or Live account?
Microsoft retired the password-based email access that apps like Salty used to scan personal Outlook, Hotmail, and Live mailboxes. Because of that change on Microsoft's side, these accounts can't be connected directly right now. You can still get every ticket in — just use Forward tickets by email, scan a photo, add from your calendar, or add manually instead.
How do I forward tickets without giving access to my inbox?
On the Tickets tab, open the import options and copy your personal Salty forwarding address (it's unique to your account). Forward any ticket confirmation email to that address and Salty creates the event for you. We only ever see the emails you forward — never anything else in your inbox.
How do I scan a physical ticket?
On the Tickets tab, tap the camera/scan option and photograph the ticket (or pick a screenshot from your library). Salty reads the event name, date, venue, and seat and creates the event.
Can Salty add events from my calendar?
Yes. With your permission, Salty looks at your device calendar and flags entries that look like live events. You review them on the Calendar tab and confirm the ones you want before anything is added.
Can I scan my inbox automatically on a schedule?
Yes. In Settings → Imports, turn on Scheduled scan and choose daily, weekly, or monthly, plus the time of day. Salty checks your connected inbox for new tickets on that schedule.
Why isn't my email finding my tickets?
- Make sure you connected the same email account your tickets are actually sent to.
- Open the Tickets tab and run a fresh scan ("Scan Now").
- Some confirmations are hard to recognize — if one is missed, forward it to your Salty forwarding address or scan the ticket photo.
- Newly connected accounts scan recent mail first; older tickets may take a moment.
Where do detected tickets go before they're added?
Tickets Salty detects appear for you to review. Anything you dismiss goes to Declined events (Settings → Imports → Declined events), where you can restore it later if you change your mind.
How email scanning works (and your privacy)
What exactly does Salty read in my email?
Only ticket and travel confirmation emails. From those, we extract just the essentials: event name, date, venue, seat, and confirmation number. We don't read, index, store, or share anything else in your inbox.
Is my email content stored?
No. To pull out the event details, the text of a matching confirmation email is processed by our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude) over an encrypted connection, solely to identify the event. That content is not used to train any AI model and is not kept after the details are extracted. We never store the full text or attachments of your emails.
How are my email credentials protected?
Your Gmail access tokens and any email passwords are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) on our servers and protected by strict per-user access rules. On your device, session tokens are stored in the operating system's secure store.
How do I disconnect an email account?
Go to Settings → Connected Accounts and tap Disconnect — that deletes the stored access for that account. For Gmail, you can also revoke access any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com.
Events, setlists & memories
How do I edit an event's details?
Open the event and tap the edit icon in the top-right corner to update the title, venue, date, time, or seat.
What is the setlist feature?
For concerts and festivals, Salty automatically fetches the setlist after the show. Open the event to see what was played — and export the setlist to Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube Music.
Where are the stats for my sports games?
Sports tickets include a score card on the event page with the final result and key stats, pulled in automatically for the game you attended.
How do I add photos to an event?
Open the event's media gallery and upload your own photos, or tap Find Photos to let Salty match photos already in your device library to that event by date and place. You control what's added.
Can I add notes or reflections to an event?
Yes — each event has a notes section for your own memories, thoughts, and mood tags.
What's on the Memories tab?
A recap of everything you've been to: a Year in Photos collage, Moments reels that stitch your events together, and a journal timeline of your notes grouped by month. Your Year in Review lives here too.
Friends & social
How do I add friends?
Open your Profile and tap Find Friend to search by username, or sync your contacts to see who you already know on Salty.
How do I tag the friends I went with?
Open an event and add attendees — tag any friend who came with you, so the event shows up in both of your memories.
How do I message a friend?
Open a friend's profile and tap the message option to start a private, one-to-one conversation. Direct messages are only available between people who are connected as friends. If someone bothers you, block them from their profile to stop their messages.
How do I follow an artist or team?
On the Following tab, search for any artist or team and follow them to get notified about new shows near you.
How do I share an event?
Open the event and tap the Share button in the header. You can share a link or the event details directly.
How do I block or report someone?
On a user's profile, use the block/report option. You can review everyone you've blocked in Settings → Account → Blocked users.
Family & Time Capsule
What is a Time Capsule?
The family features let you save the memories from events you attended with your child and, when the time is right, hand those memories over to them. You create a private profile for your child, tag them in the events you went to together, and see their memories collected in one place.
How do I add a child?
Go to your Profile and open the Family area, then add a child with a first name or nickname (and, if you like, a birth year and photo). Child profiles are private to your account — they are never searchable, never shown to your friends, and never suggested as someone to tag.
How do I tag my child in an event?
Open an event, add attendees, and choose your child from the family group. Their Time Capsule collects every event you've tagged them in.
How does handing a Time Capsule over work?
When you're ready, open the child's Time Capsule and choose to hand it over. Salty creates a private, one-time invite link that expires in 7 days. You can email it or share it. When your child opens it, they confirm their date of birth (they must be at least 13 to have their own account), create their own Salty account, and the memories you tagged them in — including photos — move into their account. You can't log in to their account, and the memories are theirs from then on.
What if my child is under 13?
They can't create their own account yet. Nothing is lost — the memories stay safely in your account, and you can hand them over once your child is old enough.
Discover & saved events
What's on the Discover tab?
Trending and nearby events pulled from Ticketmaster, plus search for any artist, team, or festival — you're not limited to what's already in your account.
How do I save an event for later?
Tap the bookmark on any event in Discover. Saved events live on your Saved Events list so you can come back to them.
Notifications
What can Salty notify me about?
In Settings → Notifications you can switch each type on or off:
- Event Reminders — before an event starts
- Friend Activity — friend requests and tags
- New Detections — when a ticket is found in your inbox
- Setlists — when a setlist is posted for an event you attended
- Photos Added — when photos are uploaded to a shared event
- Artist Alerts — new shows from artists you follow
- Monthly Recap — your month in events
I'm not getting notifications.
Check that notifications are enabled both in Settings → Notifications (per type) and for Salty in your device settings (Settings → Permissions → Notifications shows the current status).
Privacy & security
What data does Salty collect, and is it sold?
We collect what's needed to run your account and import your events — and we do not sell your personal information. Full details are in our Privacy Policy, available in the app (Settings → Account → Privacy Policy) and on our website.
How do I control who can find or tag me?
In Settings → Privacy you can choose whether you appear in search, whether your events are shared with friends, and whether other people can tag you in events. Adjust these any time; they take effect right away.
Can I lock the app?
Yes. In Settings → Security, turn on App Lock to require Face ID or Touch ID every time you open Salty.
How is my location used?
Only with your permission, and only to find nearby events and help match your photos to the right event. You can manage location access any time in your device settings.
How do I manage app permissions?
Settings → Permissions shows the current status of Notifications, Camera, Photo Library, Calendar, Location, and Contacts. Tap any one to manage it in your device settings.
Your account
How do I edit my profile?
Settings → Edit (next to your name) lets you update your display name, username, and photo.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. This permanently removes your data and can't be undone. Your personal data is removed from our active systems within 30 days.
What are my data rights?
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or request it in a portable format. Email privacy@saltydigital.ai and we'll respond within 45 days.
Troubleshooting
A ticket didn't import. Confirm you connected the right email account and run a fresh scan. If a specific confirmation is missed, forward it to your Salty forwarding address or scan a photo of the ticket.
A setlist is missing. Setlists are fetched after the show and depend on the setlist being published for that date and venue. It may appear a little after the event; some smaller shows may not have one.
Find Photos isn't matching my photos. Make sure Salty has Photo Library permission (Settings → Permissions), and that the event's date and venue are correct — matching relies on when and where the photos were taken.
Notifications aren't arriving. Enable them per type in Settings → Notifications and confirm Salty has notification permission in your device settings.
I can't sign in. Use "Forgot password" to reset, or request a fresh sign-in code. If your account was recently created and unverified, the code goes to the address you signed up with — check spam. Still stuck? Email support@saltydigital.ai.
